A scarce 1788 pattern British yeomanry cavalry officer's sword with ivory grip.

Once carried by a member of the British gentry, this 1788P yeomany cavalry officer's sabre is rare. The 27 3/4 inch blade with almost kilij style clipped point, as was fashionable with many at the time, is rusted (stable rust) in places but still sound and firm in the grip. The original ivory grip has several cracks as is to be expected, but firm. A lovely sword for £550. Further pictures available upon request. Item reference number 317 / Box103-1m.
