P1845 British Infantry General's / Staff
Officer’s Picquet Sword (Sold) |
Victorian 1845 Pattern British Infantry General's / Staff Officer’s
Picquet Weight ("levee") Sword.

Made by "E Thurkle Soho London", this staff officer's
/ general's weight (thinner and therefore lighter than the general
field service sword) sword with original knot and brass scabbard
are all in very relatively good condition. The blade has some good
etching remaining including Queen Victoria's royal cypher. The fishskin
grip although worn with age is complete and in good condition with
the rings bindings intact and in place. There is no movement between
the 83.5 cm blade and the hilt nor any part of the hilt itself.
