1908 Patt British Cavalry Trooper’s Sword (Sold)

Very good condition, blackened for field service, British 1908 Pattern Cavalry Trooper's Sword with Scabbard (also blackened).

The scabbard and bowl guard have both been blackened for field service use; this sword is dated to 1941. Billed as the greatest cavalry sword ever made, this pattern unfortunately came at a time when cavalry sword charges were virtually a thing of the past due to the ugly realities of trench warfare and barbed wire no-man's land; although cavalry charges did happen.
