1796 Patt. British Light Cavalry Officer's
Sabre by Osborn (Sold) |
A good British light cavalry officer's sabre / sword by Osborn.

This sabre has such a lovely feel to it. The etching still clear
though the blue background has turned to black with wear and age,
but is none the less still very attractive. The 32 1/2 inch with
characteristic wide flared hatchet point that decimated Napoleon's
finest is still firm in the hilt. Everything is good allowing for
age and wear except a ding in the scabbard and a grip repair under
the pommel.

These 1796P officer's sabres are increasing in value as they become
harder to source. Sword reference number 475 (5). Further / full
sized images available upon request.
