G5 Era British Naval Officer's Sword with
Knot & All Weather Bag (sold) |
A good to very good quality British Royal Navy officer's sword,
scabbard, knot and all weather bag.

A very nice example, Edward 7th / George 5th era, British naval
officer's sword by Gieves Ltd. of London, Portsmouth and Devonport,
named on the folding guard to the original owner / officer R. M.
Levett. I have not researched this officer so there lies a golden
opportunity for someone.

The 31.5 inch blade in very good order, a tiny amount of patina,
the etching a little worn (slightly more one side than the other),
etched with fouled anchor, etc., firm in the hilt and sheathes into
the scabbard well (folding guard / locking pin works well). The
fishskin grip in very good order with the twisted wire ring bindings
intact. Much gilt remaining to the hilt. The sword knot in very
good order. The roe skin lined black all weather bag in good condition
for age. A well above average example.
