French Model 1855 Adjutant's Sword (sold) |
In very good condition, a French M1855 infantry adjutant's sword
and scabbard.

A well above average example of the M1855. Plain 30 inch slightly
curved blade is firm in the grip; the hilt has some small amount
of play as is normal. The walnut grip virtually intact (some small
loss near the guard) and the original twisted grip wire bindings
are good (unlike most of these swords that come onto the market).
Sheathes very well into browned steel scabbard (the scabbard was
made brown, it is not rust), the scabbard holds the blade when fully
sheathed. Further / full sized photos available upon request. Item
Ref: 682 (281).
