1st Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife
by Wilkinson Sword (sold) |
An authentic mid World War 2 British 1st Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes
Fighting knife, made by Wilkinson Sword, in very good condition.

I guarantee this to be an authentic World War 2 1st Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes
Fighting Knife by Wilkinson Sword, 1st Pattern. It dates from around
1942 as it has the revised etching border for the Wilkinson Sword
logo. With the wings amiss / removed, this knife was almost certain
to have been issued to and worn, perhaps even used by a British
Commando.

The service sharpened 17.1 cm blade is in good order and firm in
the hilt. The knife overall is in good shape, as is the leather
and steel chape sheath. It has the correct Newey patented retaining
popper, which works and is in good order. There are no markings
to the back of the sheath; this is correct for the mid / late production
1st patterns issued to British servicemen. Further / full sized
pictures available upon request. Item reference number 693.
