1912 Patt British Cavalry Officer's Sword
by Wilkinson (sold) |
A good 1912 pattern British cavalry officer's sword by Wilkinson.

A good example of the 1912 pattern British Cavalry Officer's Sword.
I did not need to look up the serial number to see when it was made
because of the brown camouflage pain on the inside of the bowl;
this stood out as a war sword. Made by Wilkinson during WW1, circa
late 1917, serial number 49113. The hilt has some aging (small rust
spots, etc.) but the 35 inch blade is still very good indeed. Fishskin
grip and twisted wire grip bindings also good, the leather field
service scabbard a little worn and with a later frog loop. Further
/ full sized photos available upon request. Item Ref: 698 (275).
