WW2 / George 6th British Royal Artillery
Officer's Sword for sale |
In very good condition, a WW2 era George 6th British Royal Artillery
Officer's sword, scabbard and straps.

In very good condition, almost as new except for some black patina
patches along the spine of the blade, one or two tiny rust spots
and two small areas of rubbed grip. One of the best condition George
6th swords I have held. Made by Alkit & Co of Cambridge Circus,
London WC2; a well known armed services outfitter and air raid shelter
(Alkits had a WW2 public air raid shelter under their premises).

The 30 inch blade superbly grey etched and firm in the hilt. The
nickel plated hilt in very good condition. Faux black fishskin grip
(indicates 1940 onwards) and twisted grip wire bindings in very
good order. Field leather scabbard and frog with belts in very good
order. The sword sheathes well and holds form but sits just proud
of the scabbard throat (there is a small gap). A truly lovely example.
I think £550 is a very good price for this excellent condition
war time sword. Further / full sized images upon request. My reference
number is 706 - Box 302-1.18m.
