1856 Pattern British Pioneer Sawback Sword
for sale |
In very good condition, an 1856P British pioneer's sawback sword
made by W.R. Kirschbaum (Solingen).

Many of this pattern were made in Solingen for the British Army;
you can tell it is a British army sword courtesy of the crown inspection
mark (crown over 18 in this case) next to the knight's head logo
of W.R. Kirschbaum. A hefty sword more about cutting through bamboo
and other vegetation than hand to hand combat.

The 22 1/4 inch blade is in very good order and firm in the hilt.
The hilt is in very good order too. Blade also marked with "1958"
(this is a rack number, not the year). A great example for only
£225. Further / full sized photos available upon request.
Item Ref: 758 - Box 320-0.9m.
