French Model 1854 Naval Officer's Sword (Sold)

Very fine condition French model 1854 naval officer's sword with scabbard, datable to 1896.

In very good condition, this sword can be dated to around 1896 courtesy of the twin inspection marks (one a "C", the other a "B", both under stars) and the blade inscription (Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal). The blade has hardly any defect (just a small sliver of plating has come off on the edge in one section). The hilt is fine (very slight movement of the grip) and scabbard in very good state of preserve (sword sheathes well but is very tight towards last section). Further pictures available upon request.
