Showato Japanese WW2 Army Officer's Shin Gunto (sold)

Signed by a well known blade maker called Takehisa, a Showato Japanese WW2 Army Officer's Shin Gunto Katana.

A quite weighty WW2 Shin Gunto made by Takehisa in the Autumn of 1943. The 26 inch blade has been cleaned rather than polished and shows some signs of having rusted a little in past, but overall this is an impressive piece and by an known blade maker. The rayskin and silk bindings are in good order, the mounts are all present, the leather saya is old and tired for sure but sheaths well.
